What is an Approved Volunteer?
An approved volunteer is an adult who seeks to be a:
⚾️ Manager
⚾️ Assistant coach
⚾️ Team parent
⚾️ Practice helper
⚾️ Adult umpire
⚾️ Board member
Note: Approval not needed for scoreboard, GameChanger, field crew, or snack shack.
How do I become an Approved Volunteer?
To become an Approved Volunteer, please carefully review the directions below.

How do I complete this?
| Log in at wgll.org to access SportsConnect and register as a volunteer to request the JDP background check [Use these directions if needed]
Be on the lookout for an email from JDP; you must enter more information directly to JDP to submit your background check
| Scroll down to the bottom of the Abuse Awareness page and log in [You must create account if first time]
Once you are logged in, look for and complete the Abuse Awareness training
| Attend a scheduled fingerprinting event at WGLL [dates TBA] or go to
Verify Group in Campbell

How do I complete this? | Step 1: Watch Training
Step 2: Upload Certificate
- Log in at wgll.org to access your SportsConnect volunteer profile
- Check the box to indicate that you have watched the training

- Go to the HEADS UP page and scroll down to the bottom to log in [you must create account if first time]
- Complete the training
- Download the certificate

- Log in at wgll.org to access your SportsConnect volunteer profile
- Upload your certificate
- Save your profile
| Step 1: Determine if needed - If you have taken this before, please look at your certificate to see if you need to take it again this year because this is only required every other year
- If yes, proceed to step 2
- If No, skip ahead to step 3 and upload your valid certificate
Step 2: Complete Training - Go to the SCA Prevention page and scroll down to the bottom to log in [you must create account if first time]
